Born from a Homeowner’s Perspective Our story didn’t start in a boardroom; it started when our co-founder, Michelle Moran, built a custom home for her own family. She recognized a missing piece in the industry: a process that truly advocates for the homeowner.
She teamed up with her father, Jim McVicker, who brought 30 years of Fortune 500 executive finance experience to the table. Together, they founded J&K (Jim and Kathleen "Michelle") to combine artistic design with disciplined project management.

Michelle brings a rare combination of accounting precision and artistic vision to every project. With a background in financial consulting and project management, she acts as your dedicated advocate. Having navigated the building process herself, she knows exactly how to guide you through the thousands of decisions—from floor plans to finishes—ensuring your home is "thoughtfully conceived and artfully crafted" on time and within budget.
JIM MCVICKER
Co-Founder & Operations Lead
Jim retired from a 30-year career in executive corporate finance at a Fortune 500 company before co-founding J&K. He has applied that high-level professional discipline to our operational standards. Jim ensures that every project is managed with total financial integrity and transparency, giving you peace of mind that your investment is in expert hands.
